Baidoa,(InsideSomalai.org) Reports from the Southern town of Baidoa said that Al-Shabaab Islamic group fighters have retaken control of Dinsoor town after Ethiopian troops withdrew on Tuesday.
Al-Shabaab briefly took control of Dinsoor town on Sunday after having a clash with government forces, a clash with claimed at least six people mostly government soldiers, but withdrew before the night.
In response, the interim government dispatched a convoy of Ethiopian troops to Dinsor. The Ethiopians stayed in Dinsor until midday Tuesday and withdrew back to Baidoa, the seat of the Somali parliament.
"When Al-Shabaab entered the town government forces started to flee and took control with resistance" Osman Hassanow, a resident.
Earlier on Sunday, Sheikh Mukhtar Roobow known as Abuu Mansoor threatened that his fighters might attack Baidoa town, the official site of the Somali Parliament and one of the main strongholds of the Ethiopian troops.
Some conflicting reports from Dinsoor said that the insurgents retreated from the town while other reports said some of the fighters are still inside the town.
Insurgent's take over comes when President Abdullaahi Yusuf , Speaker of the Parliament Sheikh Aden and Somali Prime Minister had an exclusive meeting on the situation of the capital and also discussing a proper plan to start dialogue with the opposition including those fighting government and Ethiopian troops in the streets of Mogadishu.
Recently, insurgents extended their operations into regions including Bay, Bakol, Hiran and central regions of Somalia attacking bases of Somali government and Ethiopian troops.
